Some people plan to recruit leaders of different ethnic groups to host a national conference to vote out President Muhammadu Buhari, Says Buhari.

Currently, President Buhari says they are plans to take action that will lead to a forceful change of government.

The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, stated that the presidency is informed that the people behind the plan work with foreigners operating outside the country.

Adesina asserts that the Department of State Services (DSS) was alert to moves by misguided elements to wreak havoc on the nation’s government, sovereignty, and corporate existence.

Disgruntled religious and former political leaders intend to push the country into a serious crisis that will lead to an undemocratic leadership change.

We believe that Nigerians have chosen democracy. The only means in which they are willing to accept change of government is through elections, and that any other means are illegal and even treasonous.

The opposition leader Atiku Abubakar reacts.

Atiku Abubakar, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2019 elections, advised Nigeria’s federal government to mobilize veterans who previously served for the nation’s security to join the security agencies to fight insecurity.

Atiku said that the security situation in the country is poor, so no place will ever be safe again – farms, markets, schools, homes, mosques, churches, and urban areas are all affected.

“We now need to lead decisively and I appeal to the federal government to consider bringing back all ex-servicemen and women who are willing to return to service, so we can defeat the insurgents,”

Abubakar says that the ex-servicemen who restored peace in Lebanon, Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Sokoine-Principe will do the same for their motherland.

The heads of security will meet with senators on Thursday.

On Thursday, May 6, security chiefs will brief members of the Nigerian Senate on how they plan to handle security challenges we are concerned about.

Ahmad Lawan, the Senate president, discussed the Issues with NASS members.

It is scheduled that the service chiefs appear in front of the Senate on Tuesday. Still, the meeting was rescheduled for the National Security Council meeting, which President Muhammadu Buhari attended.

Senators summoned the security chiefs on April 27 to brief legislators on the steps they were taking in response to attacks by bandits, Boko Haram, unknown militias, and armed farmers.
