In Navratri festival continuos 9 days do worship of Devi Durga. The first face of the Durga is Sheliputar, who birth as a king of the mountains. The meaning of the “Shel” is a mountain and “Putri” means a daughter. That is why we are calling her Shelputri – a mountain daughter. Maa Shelputri, an absolute form of Mother Nature, first day Navratri do pooja. We also know her as Devi Parvati. Who is the mother of God Shiv, Ganesh, and Kartik’s mother? The shadow of Maa Shelputri is like a power lady who holds on her right hand a Trishul and on the left hand a flower. She rides on Nandi a bull.

Maa Shelpurti is the Goddess of the Muladhara chakra or root chakra. To improve this goal a person starts the journey and worship the Devi Durga Maa. Without energizing the Muladhara chakra one does not have the power and strength to do anything worthwhile. It is said in the Hindu religion that a precious person to use complete ourselves has to do pooja of Shelputri Maa. That is why on the first day of Navratri person did worship of this face of Devi Durga.
