According to the sources, the football player is well-known by his nickname Junior Tumbu who played professionally as an attacking midfielder. He represented the Sierra Leone national team from 1994 until 2002. Before, it was rumored that his death was just rumors and many sources were believing that hoaxes are circulating on social media but because of many tributes and prayers’, it has been confirmed that football is no more among us. His fans and loved ones has left devastated after learning of his sudden demise.

How Did Lamin Conteh Die?

Born as Lamin Conteh Jr on June 20, 1976, in Freetown, Sierra Leone. The football took his last breath on May 5, 2022. He was born from Muslim parents to limba ethnic group. A Muslim himself, he grew up in poverty as a teenager and started to play street football across Freetown with boys much older than he was. He was also considered the best secondary school footballer in Sierra Leone. He later dropped out of the Ahmmadiyya Muslim Secondary School in Freetown in 1992 to become a professional football player.

His talent made him to began his International debut to Sierra Leone in 1994 at the age of 17. Being a Muslim, he was involved in the Rastafarian movement and was a big fan of reggae star Bob Marley. If we talk about his career so, when he was 18, he was selected to play for Sierra Leone in the 1994 Africa Cup of Nations held in Tunisia. Later, he was also selected to become a party of squad for the following tournament in South Africa two years later.
